The Book of Revelation #7 The Warrior on the White Horse
The Book of Revelation #7 - The Warrior on the White Horse
“I saw heaven opened. And there was a white horse. He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written, that no one knows but He Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood. His name is called The Word of God.” Rev 19:11-13
“It is a righteous matter with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. They shall be punished with eternal destruction, isolated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints” 2Th 1:6-10
“Enoch, the seventh generation from Adam, also prophesied of these men, saying, “Look! The Lord is coming with ten thousand of His holy ones, to execute judgment on everyone, and to convict all who are godless of all their wicked deeds that they have committed, and of all the terrible words that godless sinners have spoken against Him.” Jud 14
There is a day coming when the Lord Jesus will personally come and exact vengeance and judgment upon his enemies!
It will be a day of catastrophic, cataclysmic, cosmic proportions!
It will be a day of world wide destruction, the cosmos shaken – truly a day of vengeance.
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.” Mar 13:24-27
Note, it is after the Tribulation, the physical universe (stars) will be shaken, the forces of Satan (powers) will be shaken, and the elect are gathered.
He will come on a white horse, clean and pure (attesting to the righteousness of this judgment), and he will come from heaven, fully assured of victory. All of you who now mock Jesus, using his name as a common curse word, deriding him as a nobody, will suffer his vengeance. We do not like the word vengeance, pay-back; but you will receive according to what you have done to him and against him. This should make you very afraid!
He leads his army, he does not fight from the rear. There is no enemy able to challenge him. His eyes are fire, all piercing, all seeing. And he is followed by a multitude, millions and millions.
It sounds odd to speak of the lowly, humble Jesus, the Galilean carpenter bringing the host of heaven to exact vengeance upon his enemies, but it is clear, that is exactly what he will do.
And it is a right thing! It the proper thing for him to do! What owner of a business would allow his good name and reputation and company to be libeled and to be destroyed; he would address the issue, and take vengeance in a Court of Law, and take the money awarded to him as the public testimony that he was libeled, slandered, etc. Jesus will do the same, and more. We do it, because that is how God acts.
He also exacts vengeance upon those who “obey not the gospel”. The gospel says, “repent of your sins and believe in Jesus”; it is a command. If you have not done that, you will be the object of his vengeance. Un-repentance and un-belief are sins!
And he will not only exact vengeance on those “who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ”, but he will fight against, and defeat the False Prophet, the Beast, and Satan.
“But the beast was captured and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with brimstone.” Rev 19:20
“And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him,” Rev 20:1-3
“Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth, and destroy with the brightness of His presence, even him, whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan with all power and signs and false wonders,” 2Th 2:8-9
These will be cast alive into the lake of fire that will burn forever. Today, people are enamored with satanic stuff. Halloween, with all of its demonic themes, is a big deal here in America. Beware! Satan is real and powerful, but Jesus defeats and destroys and jails him forever in the lake of fire. Now the devil exerts great power and sway upon the earth, such that he is called “the prince of the power of the air” and the bible says, “the whole world lies in the wicked one” 1Jn 5:19, but on that day, when the Lord Jesus comes upon his white horse, the devil’s rule will be over.
I could write about all kinds of apocalyptic events, and scenarios, they are tangents; there is only one question: “Whose side are you on?” If you are not a lover of the gospel of Jesus Christ, you will suffer the same eternal fate as the devil will suffer; you will be with him forever, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire in hell – PERIOD!
“Then He will say to those at the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels … And they will go away into eternal punishment.” Mat 25:41, 46
“You cursed” … “everlasting fire.”
For the Lord Jesus will return and wipe away the evil that stains his Creation; he will no longer suffer his enemy to usurp authority over his Creation, the Universe; he will remove, by force, evil and sin and lies from his world.
People like to say, “How could a loving God do that?”; I answer, “How could a loving god NOT do that?” To allow the devil and sin to remain would be so very un-loving to those who love God, that if God did not remove it, God would be totally wrong!
The Universe is his, and he will come and clean house!
Never ever think Jesus Christ is a woos; a whimp; a weakling!
He is the mighty God of heaven, who commands a multitude of angels, whom he will bring with him on that day, to destroy the devil, and all of those who do not love him.
And that is the right thing for him to do!
“If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. Come, O Lord!” 2Co 16:22
Eternally under the curse of God, can there be anything more horrible?
