The Father of Eternity

The Father of Eternity

This verse is saying that Jesus is the source of time; but really more than that, that he transcends time, is over-and-above time, is outside of time.

The bible clearly states that Jesus existed before the world existed:

"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world." Joh 17:24

It clearly teaches that he is an eternal person:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." Joh 1:1-2

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." Heb 13:8

The bible clearly teaches he made all things:

"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." Joh 1:3

"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:" Col 1:16

BUT his name "The Father of Eternity" goes beyond those truths, it tells us that time, and eternity, which is without start or end, originate from him; and if they originate FROM him, he was BEFORE time. I am writing those words, but who can explain this? Certainly not I!

That is probably the one thing about God that truly stumps us: He has no beginning; there never was a "time" when he was not; he always was.

Evolutionary science, "science so called," speaks of the eternal existence of Energy, yet they contradict themselves, for in the second Law of Thermodynamics (heat) they say that heat flows from high heat areas to low heat areas, and that as that happens, there is more disorder (entropy); but evolution requires an increase and greater concentration of energy, and less disorder!

So energy cannot be "eternal," because it is dissipating!

I am NOT saying God is "energy;" God is a person; but what Science says about Energy always existing, is what we say about God. Their problem is that by their own definitions, energy cannot exist eternally, it dissipates! And that does not even address where the energy came from, the initial energy that runs the universe. They do not want to say it came from God, but they need a cause that exists before energy; and that stumps them!

He who existed before energy is Jesus Christ, and it is in fact he who said "Let there be light!" That "light" being not just the visible spectrum of red to violet, but the entire energy of the universe. He not only made the "clock" (matter) from nothing (Heb 11:3) but he "wound it up" infusing the initial energy into the entire universe; and that started the "ticking," which is TIME! These are deep things indeed.

It is an interesting Google search "where did the initial energy in the universe come from!"

Evolutionary scientists cannot say God, and do not want to say God, because then they must acknowledge the moral implications of that, that he is the Creator and Law-Give and Judge, whom they must obey; it is a moral issue, not a science issue.

Honest scientists realize that something cannot come from nothing, ans so they say, We don't know." Others have all kinds of convoluted ideas, but they still have a problem, THE PROBLEM, something must come first, something must exist beforehand.

What has always existed, is not a "what," but he, Jesus, who clearly said that he was the "Ever Living One," the "I AM."

"I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM, ye shall die in your sins." Joh 8:24

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM." Joh 8:58

So if he is the Eternal I AM, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, then he is truly "time-less," not defined by time, not bound by time. He exists in an eternal present. There is no past tense with him. That is why 1000 years is as 1 day to him!

You see again, it is all about Jesus, and THE question: Who is Jesus?

It is not that we Christians say this about him; the bible says this about him, and he himself said it about himself. Isaiah tells us this child is not an angel, nor is he a creature, he is none other than the Ever-Living, Self-Existent, Being who has neither beginning nor end, who inhabits (fills up) eternity. (Isa 57:15)

He was born of Mary, his name is Jesus.

The book of Revelation is NOT a revelation of future events, it is the revelation of Jesus Christ. See my Blogs on Revelation.

Jesus starts the book, and ends the book, by saying about himself:

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Rev 1:8

"And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." Rev 21:6

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." Rev 22:13

Those verses from Revelation, are not saying Jesus was FROM the beginning, but the he IS the beginning. And those verses are not talking about creation, but about time, or rather the "pre-time" time. We simply don't have the words to convey this!

Bottom line, you must deal with this question: Who is Jesus?
