Abortion is murder.

Abortion is murder.

And God clearly tells us, “Thou shalt not murder!”

I do not expect to add anything new to all that has already been said and written; I am writing this for two (2) reasons:

  1. Sometimes just hearing the same thing from another person, said a little differently, can effect a change in one's thinking. If you are in doubt about abortion, maybe hearing it from me, said my way, will change your thinking.

  2. I do not want anyone to wonder where I stand on abortion.

I will organize this under the following points:

  1. Murder is the per-meditated killing of someone with out cause, meaning they did nothing to deserve it.

  2. Murder is a crime not just against God's government, ie a crime because he said it is so, which he has the right to do, but against his person, because people are made in his image.

  3. Babies in the womb are people, they are not just a mass of cells.

And I will also comment on the following:

  1. Use of language: pro-choice versus pro-life.

  2. We are not against choice, we just want it exercised at a different time.

  3. Rape and incest cases.

Firstly, the bible is very clear that there is a difference between pre-meditated murder and killing someone by accident.

“But if any man hate his neighbor, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities: Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.” Deu 19:11-13

Compared to:

“And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbor ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;” Deu 19:4

These are in the same chapter; God is clearly setting the two cases in contrast, so that we know he considers them differently.

Abortion is planned killing; it is murder. They even call it “Planned Parenthood.”

Secondly, murder is a crime against God's government, and against his person.

It is a crime against his government, because as Creator, Owner, and Ruler God has the right to make the laws governing those who live within the place he has made, owns, and rules – period! He clearly says, “Thou shall not murder!” Which he defines as pre-meditated killing. What is so hard to understand in that?

So if there was no other reason that murder is wrong, but simply because he said so, just as we parents tell our children, “Because I said so,” that would be sufficient, but God deals with us rationally, he reasons with us, and so he also gives us the reason why murder is wrong: It is a crime against his person:

“Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” Gen 9:6

When God purposed to make Adam and Eve, he said within his Tri-Unity (The Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit speaking among themselves), “Let us man man is our image, after our likeness.” Gen 1:26

And after he had made the physical form from the dirt, he imparted life to it by putting his mouth over the nose, and blowing into the nose of that form: Gen 2:7 God's breath imparted life to Man!

That is why murder is wrong, it is a crime against the person of God. He has made each and everyone of us. Yes, the mechanism is the sexual act, which by the way, he also created, but since not every act of sex results in a pregnancy, we can say that the ones that do, and the people that are thus created, are not due to chance (there is no chance or luck; “I happened to get pregnant!”), they come into being due to the sovereign and eternal plan of God. That means that I, and that means that you, and that means that every aborted baby is a person God created. I say “is” because, though the body was killed, the soul lives.

Every person, regardless of age or anything else, is a human being made by God, made in his image, and therefore to murder them, is to attack God personally. And abortion is the snuffing out of that life which God created: it is an attack on God himself.

Thirdly, babies in the womb are people, not masses of cells. We have all of these euphemisms to hide the fact that they are people; zygote, fetus, embryo, etc, with the “logic” being that if they are not people, then abortion is simply removing a non-human mass of cells; it is not the killing of a human being.

But consider these verses:

God says “two nations” were in Rebekah's womb, not 2 embryos. Gen 25:23

God said Sampson was to be a Nazarite from the womb. Jdg 13

He says to Jeremiah: “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jer 1:5 Clearly stating “before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,” and “before you came out, I ordained a work for you.”

David says God took him out of his mother's womb, and that he trusted in God from the womb. Psa 22 While still in his mother womb, John the Baptist leap at the voice of Mary; Moms and dads, remember, the kicks and punches your little one threw while still inside the womb? We can argue about when, but at one point there is no question it is a human being!

But the Abortionist want to di-humanize the baby, because they know that if it is not a human, then they can say abortion is not murder. The same argument was used with black slaves in America, dehumanize them: since they are only 3/5 human, sub-human, enslaving them is not wrong. The same argument was used by the Nazi's with the Jews, and other's they deemed “lesser,” and so being not really human, killing them is not wrong.

How is this for an interesting article:

Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act

The Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (16 U.S.C. 668-668d), enacted in 1940, and amended several times since, prohibits anyone, without a permit issued by the Secretary of the Interior, from "taking" bald or golden eagles, including their parts (including feathers), nests, or eggs.

The Act provides criminal penalties for persons who "take, possess, sell, purchase, barter, offer to sell, purchase or barter, transport, export or import, at any time or any manner, any bald eagle ... [or any golden eagle], alive or dead, or any part (including feathers), nest, or egg thereof."

The Act defines "take" as "pursue, shoot, shoot at, poison, wound, kill, capture, trap, collect, molest or disturb."  Regulations further define "disturb" as “to agitate or bother a bald or golden eagle to a degree that causes, or is likely to cause, based on the best scientific information available, 1) injury to an eagle, 2) a decrease in its productivity, by substantially interfering with normal breeding, feeding, or sheltering behavior, or 3) nest abandonment, by substantially interfering with normal breeding, feeding, or sheltering behavior" (50 CFR 22.6).

In addition to immediate impacts, this definition also covers effects that result from human-induced alterations initiated around a previously used nest site during a time when eagles are not present, if, upon the eagle's return, such alterations agitate or bother an eagle to a degree that interferes with or interrupts normal breeding, feeding, or sheltering habits, and causes injury, death or nest abandonment.

A violation of the Act can result in a fine of $100,000 ($200,000 for organizations), imprisonment for one year, or both, for a first offense. Penalties increase substantially for additional offenses, and a second violation of this Act is a felony.

When is a person a person? Certainly the same time a Bald Eagle is a Bald Eagle!

Now to comment on the following:

  1. The use of language: pro-choice versus pro-life.

  2. That we are not against choice, we just want it exercised at a different time.

  3. Regarding rape and incest cases.

Firstly, symmetry is important in language:

The opposite of life is death: Pro-Life verses Pro-Death. One camp wants the baby to live, the other wants it to die. We should insist they refer to themselves as Pro-Death.

Secondly, Choice.

Nobody is denying the right of choice. Nobody is forcing pregnancy upon a woman. Who is putting a gun to any woman's head, and saying, “You will have sex now, and you will get pregnant!”

There are some who believe even contraception is wrong, and including the Roman Catholic church's 1.2 billion people, and that number is sizable, but allowing for a political compromise, the choice can be made before sex, to prevent the murderous act of abortion, rather than after sex and conception, and thereby facilitate murder. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Pro-Choice – yes – but before the act!

Thirdly, this obviously leads to the question of rape and incest.

Here is a post from USAToday:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/05/24/rape-and-incest-account-few-abortions-so-why-all-attention/1211175001/

"Just 1% of women obtain an abortion because they became pregnant through rape, and less than 0.5% do so because of incest, according to the Guttmacher Institute.”

I think most of us who are against abortion, would again take a political compromise here, and allow abortion in cases of rape and incest.

There were 43,000,000 abortions reported from 1973 to 2022, https://www.statista.com/statistics/185274/number-of-legal-abortions-in-the-us-since-2000/ that would be 430,000 due to rape and 215,000 due to incest, for a total of 645,000. Allowing abortion for rape and incest cases, would have saved 42,325,000 babies. I can hardly think that any Pro-Lifer would balk at that compromise.

Some may wonder why I am writing on this now, since the issue has been given back to the States. Well, firstly, I just started my Blog last year, 2023, so I could not write on it before that, when it was still a Federal issue, but even though the question has been removed from Federal Jurisdiction, and put back into the hands of each State (which I think is Constitutionally correct), it is not a dead issue; it is now being fought in each of the 50 States, and if you listen to the rhetoric going on during this Election Year of 2024, there are still many who want it returned to the Federal level, as Federal Law; it is not dead!

We all are horrified that 6,000,000 plus Jews and others were killed by the Nazis, we get all upset when there is a school shooting and 20 people are killed, why does the murder of 43,000,000 babies raise no universal cry of outrage?
