The Sixth Commandment

The Sixth Commandment

“You shall not murder.” Exo 20:13

The Commandment is clear; God is for life, the devil is for death.

This commandment prohibits First Degree Pre-Mediated Murder.

What would life on earth be like if we were allowed to act like the animals, killing each other whenever we were able to? If Evolution is true, why can’t I kill anyone I want, any

time I want; that is what my ancestors the animals do every day.

But we are not animals; man is the unique creation of God: Man alone bears the image of God.

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the livestock, and

over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created

them.” Gen 1:26-27

Only man was made by God with his own hands, and then given life by the mouth-of God-to-the-nose-of-man doing of God himself.

“Then the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.” Gen 2:7

God made the male with his own hands. He scooped up ground, molded it, formed a human male body with the dirt, and then put his mouth over the nostrils and blew into

man life. This man is Adam, and he is alive today in heaven!

Then God made the female, by personally operating on Adam, removing a rib, closing him up, and with that rib forming a human female body with his own hands. Her name is

Eve, and she too is alive today in heaven!

“So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept. Then He took one of his ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the rib which the LORD God had

taken from man, He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.” Gen 2:21-22

A side note, but obviously relevant to the day in which we live is that our human male and female anatomy is designed and hand made by God.

Regarding Capital Punishment for First Degree Murderess:

“But for your own lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning; from every animal will I require it; of man, too, will I require a reckoning for human life, of every man for that of

his fellow man. Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for I God made man in His own image.” Gen 9:5-6

There may be questions regarding 2nd Degree Murder, Man-Slaughter, Vehicular Homicide, etc, but regarding First Degree Pre-Meditated Murder, there can be no doubt,

the 5th Commandment prohibits it, and the penalty is execution.

And a side note, if this command was obeyed, there would never be a repeat offender, and it would obviously deter some; no one would be motivated to murder, but some

would be motivated to not murder.

And another side note, abortion is pre-meditated murder. It is planned, and it is the ending of a life. The opposite of “Pro-Life” is not “Pro-Choice,” it is “Pro-Death.”

So murder is wrong because we are the unique image bearers of God; our first parents being personally made by God.

If you destroy my piece of art work, something I produced by my creative effort, my property, I can sue you, and I will win.

If we murder, we are destroying God’s creative work. He will not let it go un-punished.

Murderers do not go to heaven. The mafia boss who orders a hit today, and goes to church on Sunday, does not go to heaven, I don’t care how many Hail Mary’s he says, or

how much money he gives; nor does the abortion doctor; nor the drug dealer; nor any murderer.

Do we think God is some jerk we can fake out? Or buy off?

It is a chump bet indeed, to gamble our eternal existence on the hope we can sneak past God.

“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, the sexually immoral, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars shall have their portion in the lake which burns

with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.” Rev 21:8

“Outside are dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and practices a lie.” Rev 22:15
