The Apostle’s Creed: The Life Everlasting

The Apostle’s Creed - The Life Everlasting

Everyone who has ever lived will have their body resurrected, and that body will be joined to their soul/spirit, and standing before the King, the Lord Jesus Christ himself, this is what will happen, and this is what we will hear:

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. Before Him will be gathered all nations, and He will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep at His right hand, but the goats at the left. Then the King will say to those at His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.” Mat 25:31-34

But to the goats, he will say, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” Mat 25:41

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive his recompense in the body, according to what he has done, whether it was good or bad.” 2Co 5:10

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. From His face the earth and the heavens fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. Books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to their works as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one by his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” Rev 20:11-15

Heaven and hell will be filled with people having bodies, and these people will never ever die again.

For we Christians in heaven, it will be an eternity of bliss, “But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1Co 2:9

For those in hell, it will be an eternity of suffering: “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched, where their worm does not die, and the fire that shall never be quenched,” Mrk 9:44

These are solemn words indeed; solemn thoughts that should cause everyone to think soberly, and ask themselves the question, “Am I one of Jesus’ people?”
